My Current Skincare Routine | The Ordinary

November 25, 2019

Hello my loves!

After an unexpected good response from my Instagram stories regarding my skincare routine, I thought I’d do a little post so you can see what I’m currently using & why and can shop right here from my blog post!

As I said on my stories, The Ordinary isn’t the easiest brand to figure out what your skin needs as its like being back in a chemistry lesson but fear not, once you know the ingredients and why they are good for your skin type, your good to go! I would recommend going into store (Boots/Harvey Nics/Sephora) or reading through the benefits of each product online before you buy too.

I suffer with oily/combination and ironically oily skin require more oils which I didn’t realise until I spoke to the team so here’s what I use!

Morning Routine

I start off with the Squalane Cleanser, this gets rid or make-up impurities for a clean base for your oils, acids & moisturiser. Rub it in between you’re palms to create an oily texture before applying to dry face, then rinse with warm water.

I then move onto Hyaluronic Acid which provides deep hydration for your skin, great for dry & oily skin. After this I apply Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (Vitamin B5) and this basically helps remove congestion from your skin, so you know those annoying bumps on your forehead!? it reduces those, winner! it also reduces blemishes so if you’ve got marks left over from those pesky spots you’ve been picking it helps to reduce the appliance of those whilst brightening the skin – little bottle off heaven in my opinion!

Then onto the moisturiser, I use Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (Hyaluronic Acid) its super light & non greasy so it works really well for hydration and a great base before applying make up or further creams! plus the added HA adds extra hydration to your skin.

Evening Routine

Again, I start with the Squalane cleanser to remove all make up & apply Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, this toner is to be applied once daily after cleansing & before creams. This also will increase your skins sensitivity so make sure to use a moisturiser with sunscreen in if your in the sunshine! After toning I head onto the acids & oils, I use Hyaluronic Acid again and then move onto Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone. Now, the I first used this on my skin it gave a really weird tingly sensation but this is normal. Vitamin C is essential for keeping your skin bright and works best applied in the evening.

I sometimes then apply B oil before monitoring too which has a very strange smell, it smells a little like moss, haha! its a ‘purified form of micro-algae in a blend of squalane and oils of marula, argan, baobab, pataua, brazil nut, inca inchi, rosehip and borage to support healthy skin defense, to enhance radiance, to quench free radicals and to help balance pro-irritant mediators‘ I wake up with radiant skin after using this in the evening!

Finally I finish with the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA moisturiser, go to bed, and let the goodness do its magic!

I’ve popped everything below for you guys to shop!
