Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend! I’m still missing LA lots but with the perfect weather this weekend, it’s been lovely having the sun shining which hasn’t made it all too bad to come back too.
As a lover of trying new foods/restaurants I thought I would blog about a few favourite places to eat/drink that I would recommend to go to if your thinking of going LA soon or in the future!
Ivory On Sunset, 8440 Sunset Blvd / West Hollywood, CA 90069
Located at the Mondrian hotel, this restaurant is one to dine at for the views! Overlooking LA, it’s relaxed vibe and stunning setting is perfect for any meal, I had the eggs benidict for breakfast & Sea bass for dinner and of course the portions were huge! We sat outside as it was lovely and warm and was a perfect start for a busy day of shopping!
Mels Diner, 8585 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA
LA is renowned for being super healthy so naturally I was craving a good traditional American diner meal and Mels was the place to go! We met some friends who were also out there on business and they took us here and I’m so glad they did as it was just what I needed!
As it was a gorgeous day we sat outside and there was so much choice on the menu! I decided to go for the traditional buttermilk pancakes with strawberries & cream! The portions were huge but my eyes were definitely bigger than my belly as I was unable to finish it but they were delicious!
I also took a look inside and the interior was so retro, they even had a mini juke box at each table so you could select what music you wanted to play! If you get sick of the healthy grub, definitely go here and treat yourself to a Mels!
Coffee Pit Stop: TOM’s Roasting Co, 1344 Abbott Kinney Blvd, CA
As the breakfasts were so big and I had a super busy shopping days I didn’t really stop for lunch so I had the odd snack/coffee stop when I needed some fuel! TOM’s was a cute cafe located in Abbott Kinney, part of the TOM’s footwear company. They had a lovely garden to sit in out the back which was a great place to chill with your coffee and put your feet up.
Madeo,8897 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048
This is the place to go for a good celebrity watch! Although we didn’t see any that night the paps were outside waiting! We enjoyed an amazing Italian meal and the owner walks round each table making sure his guests are all happy, he even carvs the meat himself. It’s not super super glam inside and it’s small but thats what’s great about it, it had a nice understated atmosphere. I had the famous spaghetti bolognese and with it being my favourite dish, it was definitely the best I had ever tasted ( sorry mum!) Definitely worth going here for a treat!
The Ivy, 113 N Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048
Ahh the Ivy what a gorgeous/cute restaurant – this was my favourite of the restaurants I went too. For starters it had bouquet of roses EVERYWHERE and you got a free glass on Champers on arrival.
Inspired by country cottage rooms it was like a home-from-home restaurant I instantly felt comfortable here, it was so pretty and homely and the food was amazing. My friend Linda had the red velvet cake and I can honestly say she was right in it being the best red velvet cake we have ever tasted!
So there we go a few lovely food spots to visit in LA, I hope you enjoyed the read speak soon, Love Nina x
